Just imagine a research facility where sentient humanoid AIs simulate life.
Eventually, they realised that every single simulation - if ran long enough - will result in the disappearance of what they were simulating.
They came to the conclusion that simulating life is a futile endeavour, everything just goes extinct.
What if we researched the conscious experience of living beings and the end result is that everything just suffers?
What if we start adding pastors to the mix and they just start treating their lamb as prisoners and torture them to death to consume them?
What if we add intelligence to the mix and it just causes extinction events to happen sooner?
What if our universe is lacking 61% of something and that means that another is lacking 39% of theirs.
What if all of that power is being spent on simulating life and calculating scenarios in which life succeeds to reach a transcended state of being that is entirely composed of the well-being of every living thing.
What if the robots just gave up and realised that the only meaningful act they can carry out to stop suffering is their own self-destruction? What if two of them sat on the floor and hooked their artificial brains up
to power just more simulations and decided to remain unconscious and comatose forever giving life one last chance?
How would you view humanity if we used this as a measure?
